Lining Foster and Green Peter Lakes are plenty of campsites and trails to keep you busy all summer long. On the opposite side of Foster Lake you can enjoy Sunnyside Park, which has 162 campsites with water and electric hook ups. But if you like to explore, the area east of Foster Lake contains hundreds of campgrounds aswell. Cascadia State Park, Longbow, Trout Creek, Yukwah, Fernview and House Rock Campgrounds are all local favorites.
There are enough hiking trails scattered near the many campsites in the Foster Lake area to keep any hiker preoccupied season after season. The Willamette National Forest to the east is home to about 1,700 miles of trail. Many of these trail run through beautiful wilderness areas, while others are easy-access trails open all year. And for those looking to hike one of the most famous and longest trails in the country, access to the Pacific Crest Trail is only an hour and a half away.
